Christmas Queen Mariah might be defrosting now that November has arrived, but Halloween is a 365-day situation for us Queers. So, naturally, we’re spending the first day of the month with ‘Midnight for the Masses’, the new single from Canadian singer-songwriter and producer Allie X.

Self-produced, the track is another slay for Allie X after finding her solo production voice on the brilliant Girl With No Face. There’s a darker, more digital edge to this one with the diva saying, ‘I’m not pointing fingers. I’m just as guilty. I kissed the beast, and now I’m watching myself change. In some ways, I no longer recognize myself. It’s no coincidence that this is my most digital-sounding song.’

Allie X is currently taking her Serial Diva tour across Europe, haunting some of the continent’s hottest venues along the way. She plays Frankfurt tomorrow, heads to Barcelona on Saturday, before wrapping things up in Lisbon on 10 November. Consider this your invitation to keep the spooky season going.
