Queer lives At The Tower of London

Twenty twenty-two has unexpectedly been the year that we have mentally checked out and escaped to Medieval England. Dismayed with the current state of the nation, we prefer to flee to happier memories of days gone by – 1390, for example, when Geoffrey Chaucer was writing our most recent read, The Canterbury Tales. Alternatively 1532 when Henry VIII lived in Hampton Court Palace with his wife, the infamous Anne Boleyn. Loverboy was even lucky enough to have our own private tour of the palace this summer to totally feel the fantasy. Our next stop in our Historical Hideaway looks set to the The Tower of London!

This coming February the Tower will be hosting the essential Queer Lives At The Tower. Kicking off on the 19th February, until the 24th, the Tower will be inhabited by a Drag Raven who will take you on a fully-immersive after-hours theatrical tour. You’ll encounter fascinating characters from the 14th century to the present day, celebrate stories of defiance and reflect on the LGBTQ+ stories linked to the iconic landmark throughout the years.
