Earlier this year the French fashion maverick Charlie Le Mindu made his first foray into music giving us his alter ego Muchas Problemas and its debut EP. ‘The concept was always about intimacy and control, about how far you can go emotionally and physically without losing yourself.  Muchas Problemas is autobiographical in that sense,’ he told Loverboy on release day. Continuing that feeling, two tracks from the EP have now been remixed by MVTANT for the Muchas Problemas Remix EP.

At the end of the EP sat the dark and haunting tale of ‘Tina.’ ‘Tina – one of my ex boyfriends’ best friends. She ruined my life and my ex-boyfriend’s relationship too. They were seeing each other secretly. And obviously, I will never say it loud enough, but you cannot trust anyone in relation to her. She is killing it tho!’ Le Mindu explained.

The track has now been given the remix treatment by MVTANT which turns the sinister ‘nursery rhyme’ energy of the original into more indutrial territory. Adding in a pouding bassline, the track retains its darkness but is now ready for the dancefloor.

MVTANT also remixed the title track, ‘Muchas Problemas’ giving it an EBM makeover which really brings out the confrontation in Le Mindu’s shouts and cranks up the BPM.

Speaking on the remixes, MVTANT explains: “For the two remixes, I wanted to create something distinctly different from the source material, and to imbue both of them with MVTANT’s characteristic brand of EBM. Muchas Problemas has a bit of a harder edge to it with its industrial elements and rolling EBM bassline, whereas Tina is a bit more minimal and groovy but not without that MVTANT specific horror underneath it all.”
