The English noise-rock band Mandy, Indiana just dropped ‘Cursive‘ the second single from their upcoming album URGH.
Blame it on the seasonal forced festivity, but Loverboy found ourselves creating an ever so angry, industrial playlist this Christmas filled with the joys of Maquina., Model/Actriz and Suicide. Well, it seems Mandy, Indiana are delivering presents late this year as they have just released this immediate addition. Full of propulsive percussion, tense Techno and Valentine Caulfield’s vocal with its nursery-rhyme innocence turned sinister.
Talking about the track, synth player Simon said “‘Cursive’ is probably our most collaborative track to-date. Whilst Scott and Valentine often offer the initial impetus behind most of our songs, ‘Cursive’ was built up from a number of Alex’s rhythmic sketches and my bass sequence. Valentine added her vocals later and Scott worked to sculpt these elements together. It was exciting having everyone bring their own ideas to the table from the off, throwing them together and seeing what could come out of it — a bit of a step into the unknown for us as a band.”
Mandy, Indiana play a Manchester date this month supporting Machine Girl, then play three headline dates this March post-album release before going on to tour the EU.
