He’s taken a few years put but Producer Helgi is back with new single, ‘Teknó eigur lívið í mær‘. Translating into English as ‘Techno owns the life in me’, the track is Helgi’s first new music since 2019 and a certified banger. Taking his first love ‘Acid’ and pushing it into a Techno direction, ‘Teknó eigur lívið í mær’ was born from the desire for electronic sound in a culture where acoustic guitars rule.
‘It’s anti-music…’ someone said, and for some reason those words stuck with me. They captured the feeling I had while making ”Teknó eigur lívið í mær” (En: Techno Owns the Life in Me)—a Faroese techno anthem with a sprinkle of acid, made in a country where the acoustic guitar has become the epitome of ‘proper’ music… when all you really want is some techno.’
The track is backed with a remix of Helgi’s last single, ‘Paradís‘, courtesy or Tareq (Boys’ Shorts) driven by its rolling bass line.
‘Teknó eigur lívið í mær’ is out now.
