Artist, producer, and visual creative Alewya just released new single, ‘Maktoub‘ inspired by the Arabic word for ‘destined’. Alewya’s sound draws from Ethiopian and Egyptian musical heritage, blending tradition with forward-thinking production that defies genre boundaries. ‘Maktoub’ moves fluidly between hard-hitting melodies and Alewya’s commanding, razor-sharp flows.

The track is led by feeling rather than formula and embodies Alewya’s intuitive creative process. It’s the latest track to be taken from Alewya’s forthcoming abum Zero out 26th June via LDN Records. To celebrate the release she will be playing at London’s The Lower Third on 13th July.
