‘Recreational sex. It brings me closer to you…’
Post a loved-up Valentines weekend, London-based artist Tsatsamis is here with a reality check, reminding us queer romance is never that easy. New track, ‘Recreational‘ is an ode to the anonymity, the intimacy, the intensity of getting lost in the depths of a darkroom. The sexy, synthy new single gives us Frankie Goes to Hollywood meets Moroder, with chants of ‘Drugs’, ‘Sex’, ‘Fantasy’ over the most delicious of disco beats.
Tsatsamis says about the single, ‘Recreational is about giving myself the hedonism I so desperately desire but struggle to give myself, and envy other people who can give it to themselves so freely. Born from a debaucherous weekend at a festival where I stepped inside this world. This is the first track to be released from my mixtape and marks a new era, inspired by performance – on and off the stage.’
The track is taken from his upcoming mixtape entitled Tsycophant, out 24th April via Listen Generously. Featuring previous single, ‘Secret Boyfriend’, the mixtape will showcase Tsatsamis’ ability to distil the complexities of the queer experience into tight, enticing pop songs.
He will also be playing shows at Glasgow, Manchester and London this May. Fan pre-sale tickets are available now.
