If Ora Cogan hadn’t been steadily releasing music since 2010, Loverboy would surely be naming her a One to Watch in 2026. In fact Cogan is such a new discovery for us, that as we write this we are learning that she played down the road from us at the end of last year and we were oblivious. Curses!
This week the singer/songwriter released ‘Honey‘, a slow-burning bloom, with lovely rootsy organic production. Bringing to mind Joni Mitchell or The Weather Station, Coga’s voice soars over the strings and percussion as she sings, ‘Just a hard-hearted woman // Gunmetal smile // Guarding your heart // Guarding your style.’
The track is the lead single from her upcoming album, Hard Hearted Woman, out 13th March via Sacred Bones Records. With this new release she mixes haunted folk, psych rock, and a shadowy strain of country, building a realm where catharsis feels lush, mysterious and vital.
Loverboy may have missed her but Cogan will be embarking on a UK tour this March/April.
